The Best Party DIY! Making Great Memories & Engaging Your Guests!
The holidays are here, which means party season is upon us (yay!) It’s the perfect time to really catch up with friends and create beautiful memories and moments together! I wanted to host something for close friends this holiday season, but the question was…WHAT!? It was important to me to host something intimate, engaging and fun with some wonderful gals, but I wanted to create a unique way of doing so to set my party apart from the rest!
I decided that hosting a dinner in my home was the perfect, intimate occasion. But, the most important and also sometimes the toughest part of hosting is finding a way for people to stay engaged throughout the night! As a photographer and content creator, it’s so important for me to document special moments and create content in a unique way! That’s why I was SO thrilled to partner with FUJIFILM on this event! I decided to get crafty and make capturing memories part of my decor in a fun and exciting way throughout the night! As soon as the girls arrived, I took their photo on one the fab FUJIFILM instax Mini LiPlay® hybrid instant print camera and printer! They loved that filters and 30 frames can be used to add an element of whimsy to photos. Once their portrait printed out, we used it as their place setting! I had multiple cameras laying around encouraging the girls to document their night, I mean who doesn’t love sharing memories. I was lucky enough to be able to also share the FUJIFILM instax SHARE®, which allowed us all to print instax SQUARE film-format prints from photos on our phones. (Both devices are easy to navigate using instax apps.) We then displayed the photos on the most adorable — and easy DIY — pink ribbon photo wall! I felt like this was the perfect party touch that was unique to my passion for photography! Plus, it’s so fun for everyone to take home physical memories from the night! My girls each went home with an amazing goodies bag that had a bunch of INSTAX film with either a printer or camera! They were all touched and couldn’t wait to show off their new FUJIFILM products, trying out all the ways to print straight from their phone like creating collages and straight from Instagram. Side note: these also make an incredible holiday gift!!!
Having an engaging activity is also a really fun way to keep the party exciting! Some of my favorite fun ideas are a white elephant gift exchange or playing a game of fish bowl! I love photography, so it was important for me to have that documentation element! FUJIFILM was the perfect partner because they have the most fun and high quality cameras and printing sources that are easy to use (both my photographer and slightly less-experienced photographer friends agree)! I loved watching the girls snap away on their instax Mini LiPlay, and seeing which frames they’d pick for their photo!! It was also SO fun to see the look on their faces when I showed them how to use the SP-3 smartphone printer too! In a room full of creatives, this was the PERFECT activity to have at my girls’ night! I still have the sweet little pictures hanging on my DIY ribbon wall in my living room! The memories will keep me smiling well into the new year!
