The Perfect, Safe Staycation

breakfast in bed

My favorite place to celebrate is The Peninsula in Chicago. It’s close to home, has the most comfortable beds & robes, the best food, kindest staff, most beautiful spa & they treat Obi like a king. It’s become a really special place. A place where I’ve celebrated a ton of moments and milestones. I was supposed to take my Mom for a Mother’s Day Staycation but of course, that didn’t happen because we were at the height of quarantine. SO! Now that the hotel is open again and after researching all of their safety precautions I decided it was time to re-do that Mother’s Day staycation! This weekend, my Mom visited the city for the first time since JANUARY & we headed down the street for 2 amazing days at The Peninsula. We both felt super safe and were able to keep distance, sit only on patios or in the room to eat and masks are required in ALL public spaces. We had some great relaxation time in the room, had a great cocktail hour on the Z Bar patio and an incredible dinner on the terrace at Shanghai Terrace. Can’t wait to go back!

They have an amazing staycation package happening right now which is what we did! They have a few different offers happening perfect for a staycation on your own, with a friend, significant other OR family. They’re catering to everyone! Pretty much, it’s an epic deal. There were a few FAQ’s from the weekend that I wanted to answer here for you all as well! Let me know if there are any other questions I can answer!

Q : is room service available? A: Yes! They just recently started in-room dining. There is a contactless option which is what we opted for.

Q: Is the pool open? A: Yes! The pool is open! The hot tub is emptied. You have to make an appointment for a specific time slot to visit the pool. This way, they can keep it super empty.

Q: What the hotel full? A: They’re operating at 50% capacity. All public spaces felt super quiet. We barely saw people in the halls, had elevators to ourself every time and masks are required at all times when you are out of your room.

Q: Is the spa open? A: it is! At very low capacity. Masks are required (even during spa appointments).

Book your stay HERE & go have the best, safe staycation!
