March Obsessions

  1. My Vans
When we were in California in November, I ordered my first pair of Vans since middle school. Now that it’s getting warmer in Chicago I can finally wear them at home! I’ve been reaching for them WAY more than I thought. They’re so comfy, affordable and add the perfect amount of funk to any outfit. Plus, I’m never against bringing little tidbits of emo Ali back and these definitely do the trick. You can find my favorite selection HERE.

2. Springy Active Sets (yes, bike shorts!!!)
Active sets aren’t going anywhere and with Spring on the horizon, it’s time to stash those active jackets and swap them out for some biker shorts, lightweight active pants and matching tops. I have a few I love and always return back to Alo Yoga & Spiritual Gangster but this Spring I’m dying to try active sets like THIS ONE from a new brand called, Le Ore and a Good American active set!

3. Scrunchies!!!
If you would have told me a year ago that I’d be wearing scrunchies again I would’ve said YOU CRAY. But honestly… they’re easier on the hair, comfier to wear on your head, leave less creases in your hair AND are kinda cute. I can always count on the brand, Namjosh to make really beautiful hair accessories (I have a few of their headbands), and Slip, of course has some amazing silk options!

4. These Nike Socks are the BEST!
These padded Nike socks are my new every day essential. I wear them with all of my sneakers (scrunch them around your ankle for a super cute look). They’re perfect for being active and just for hangin! I’m wearing them right now…. I’m pretty much always wearing them, actually.

5. The Perfect Tank
I found THIS tank (bodysuit version) on sale while in California and snagged it in both black and white. It’s the softest ribbed cotton and the most flattering cut. Although pricey, I’m a sucker for all of RE/DONE’s basics. I also love, Free People tanks (they’re basic ones are more like $30 vs. this RE/DONE one which is $85). The next basic tank I want to try is the cropped rib tank from the brand, WSLY.

6. Oversized Graphic Tees
Don’t @ me but this one may be in every single round up of my monthly obsessions. I just never get over oversized graphic tees. The one you see above is from my favorite local boutique, Alice And Wonder. You can find it HERE and you can always use code: ALIALI15 for 15% of that site. My two other favorite brands for graphic tees are Daydreamer and for a splurge, MadeWorn Rock!

7. Olive and June Mani Kit
I stopped all services (and ya’ll know how I love having my nails done) when Covid hit. To say Olive and June came to the rescue is an understatement. Now that Spring is well on it’s way and I’m not in gloves every day, I’ve started painting my nails again. I live and die by the Olive and June Manicure kit. It’s the only nail polish that stays on AND that looks good when you do your own nails. I kid you not, the top coat is a DREAM. If you do your own nails, this should absolutely be added to your wishlist!

8. This Dairy Free Coffee Creamer is The Bomb.com
All my fellow dairy free friends- listen up! This dairy free almond milk vanilla creamer is practically addictive. Just try it and thank me later. Link HERE!

9. Gua Sha!
I honestly didn’t know what these were meant for until recently. I started following an account on IG called Face Gym that’s all about facial massage and it’s benefits. I’ve learned how important facial massage is for skin tightening, collagen production, reducing fine lines and MORE. It’s on my list to visit Face Gym for a facial massage next time I can go to LA or NYC but for now, I’m trying to use my Gua Sha as much as possible! The brand, Skin Gym has tons of awesome skin products. You can find them HERE. Make sure to watch a tutorial for how to use your Gua Sha to get the full benefits!

10. My favorite sweatpants of all time
You see me in this ALL the time. So far I have grey and THIS ivory but am stalking every color. They are frequently sold out so you have to keep your eye on them. I guess that’s how you know they’re good. They’re perfectly high rise and oversized for a chic yet relaxed look. Make sure to size down one size because they do run large! Mine are XS. One of Shopbops Spring Trends is Cool Neutrals and I think that with a neutral sweat pant like THIS ONE you can really create a chic look with them. You can find more Spring outfit inspo HERE!
