Luxe Layers
I've always said that the best way to put together a cute outfit is layers, layers layers! It's a great way to create an interesting outfit and a great way to stay warm in the cold months in the Midwest. I love keeping colors neutral but playing with different lengths and shapes to make a layered outfit really standout.
Start with your favorite basics. I went with my go-to pair of Levis and a bodysuit. I often opt for a bodysuit over a tank because it always stays tucked and you never have to fiddle with it. Next I added a lightweight turtleneck. I love layering a turtleneck under a jacket because I think it makes the look very chic. Next, I added a lightweight jacket, this time I chose a moto just because I loved the matching colors of the leather jacket and the wool coat. I would also swap on the leather for a denim jacket or an army green/camo canvas jacket or a thin bomber. For the final layer, I added THIS amazing camel wrap coat (IT'S UNDER $50)!!!! It dresses up the outfit just the right amount. Plus, I love that the coat has a belt because it keeps it possible to have a waistline, even with all these layers! Finally, add a great bag and your favorite booties and you have have the perfect layered look!
Tip: Don't overthink it, often times any combo you put together is going to be a great one! Don't worry about varying colors, lengths or patterns... sometimes its fun to step outside the box!
