Do you live in the city, but still want to have a basic Fall day? (I’m laughing as I write this by the way!) Just because you live in an urban environment, doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the Fall fun! It’s just slightly different in the city and makes for a comical basic Fall day!
Once that temperature drops and the leaves start changing, I love to bundle up and walk (or skip, your choice depending on how festive you want to get) to my nearest Starbuck’s and order a steamed apple juice - like cider, but hipper - or the notoriously basic pumpkin spice latte, or my go-to chai! Anything warm and let’s be honest…the cup looks cute in Fall pictures!
Chicago has so kindly provided a pop-up pumpkin patch for us city-dwellers! My friends and I visited the urban patch to pick out the perfect pumpkins to carve for Halloween! Of course with our PSL and cider in hand - is there any other way? I almost felt like I was back home in Wisconsin at one of the pumpkin farms, but with a stunning city backdrop!
If I really want to get in the fall spirit, I go to my favorite place to pick apples in the city…the produce aisle at Whole Foods! They have the best selection, and I don’t need to get my cute red Hunter Play boots dirty! (Can’t stop laughing)
The best part of Fall is the outfits though! Ya’ll know I’m a sucker for Fall fits… I’m talking comfy sweaters, cozy hats, teddy coats and of course you need the perfect shoes for visiting the patch, whether it’s a dusty or muddy field or an asphalt parking lot (or a grocery aisle)! I thought my adorable red Hunter boots would look perfect for the occasion! They are practical, yet make a statement! I put together my whole Fall look around this pair of comfy red boots! I also couldn’t help but see Obi in them…too cute! Figured I’d go neutral and top off the look with the red pop on head and foot! Perfect look to be basic AND stand out! I found my perfect color on Zappos, which has exclusive Hunter colors, and these are obviously being added to the Fall rotation!
If that’s not the most basic, but most perfect, way to spend a Fall day in the city, then I don’t know what is.
A huge thank you to Zappos and Hunter for sponsoring this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
