Dining Room Reveal!

Can you believe it? The first FINISHED (I think) room in our new house! The dining room is complete just in time for dinner party season! I’m so in love with the simplicity and style of this space. A huge shoutout to my friend and incredible designer, Amelia Canham Eaton for helping to pull this room together so seamlessly. And a special thank you to my friend and studio photographer, Andres for capturing the space so beautifully.

Black woven dining chairs around walnut dining table; mid-century chandelier and emotive art.

The room is anchored by this stunning walnut table from Lulu & Georgia. I love the minimal silhouette, and the oval shape provides mores space for dining and entertaining than a traditional round style. These classic weave arm chairs from Poly & Bark are the perfect touch of mid-century inspiration that pair beautifully with the neutral aesthetic of the room. I get so excited when I think about all of the people who will gather and stories that will be shared around this table for many, many years to come!

Now let’s talk about the art and details!! Jonathan Pliego is a Chicago based artist who created this custom piece that is the most perfect addition of drama and dimension. He worked with Sam & I to create a commission that represents us and our home. We couldn’t be happier with this piece that is the true standout piece of the room. The mid-century inspired chandelier (also serving drama and dimension!) we found on Etsy. It was Amelia’s idea to fill this stunning Arhaus bowl (actually obsessed with this bowl) with oranges for a pop of color during the photoshoot.

These gorgeous euro pleat linens curtains are custom through Amelia (thank you!!) and hung on matte black hardware. They provide clean lines, texture and height to really elevate the space and make everything feel intentional and sophisticated. Below I’ve linked my holy grail of curtain resources from Julia Marcum (including all of the best product links as well as the MOST IMPORTANT dos and don’ts of curtain hanging!) Don’t hang curtains in your space until you’ve read her post!

After months of moving boxes and constant furniture delivery, it feels so good to have at least one space in the house that is finished, especially one that we use every single day. I think where you share your meals is the most important space in a home and I’m so grateful to have this space that I’m sure will be the backdrop for many memories to come. If you need me, I’ll be planning dinner parties from now until forever!
